Sauvie Island Bike Tour
8:am- Meet for coffee, bagels, and fruits at Barlow Bikes and board an illustrated 30min" bus tour through Beautiful Scappoose Bay. Take a step back in time, as we pass by Historic Old Town St.Helens Ship Yard.
Will guide a bike tour on the largest fresh-water island in the world, Sauvie Island.
You will ride down some of the same paths that Lewis & Clark walked on and Native Americans foraged and hunted along. There are over 12,000 acres of wildlife refuge on the island, so be alert for birds, deer, and more!
Farms Open June,
Experience some of the best agricultural lands and organic farming in the world! U-pick an assortment of berries, tree-ripened peaches, sweet corn, pears, nectarines, tomatoes, peppers melons and more.
If you've never experienced U-pick, you're in for tasteful treat, you'll remember for a life time.
Our lunches and snacks include gourmet sandwiches, Mommas sweet tea, Freshly baked bread and desserts from the Wild Currant, Houlton Bakery, Red Apple Market, or Vinnie's Chicago Sandwiches. After lunch ride along 4 miles on scenic Highway 30 to Johnson Bay Road. and tour the Scappoose dike-land, home to one of the largest Nurseries on the West Coast. Keep your eyes open for wildlife!
Scappoose Airport Park.
The trip will end with a 7 mile stretch up highway 30 to Scappoose Bay Marina (Old Portland Road, Warren) or to Barlow Bikes and Boards (St. Helens). Expect to arrive around 3pm.
Browse through art and antique stores. Enjoy mouth-watering restaurants, Candy,Ice-cream & Deli Shop,be sure to stop at the courthouse square and enjoy an interpretive walk of the Lewis and Clark Trail.
